A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Position:
Paraprofessionals Position Summary:
This opening is not for a specific assignment . The district posts annually in an effort to be prepared when a paraprofessional opening becomes available throughout the school year.
Working Conditions:
Start Date:
August 26, 2026
End Date:
June 30, 2027 Part-Time Position. Benefits do not apply.
Schedule:
5 days a week, 5.75 hours per day (
Total:
28.75 hours/week)
Salary Information General Education or Special Education Paraprofessional:
$21,215.00 per year
ABA Non-Certified Paraprofessional:
$24,455.00 per year
ABA Certified Paraprofessional:
$28,257.00 per year
Braillist or Job Coach:
$29,756.00 per year
Physical Safety and Professional Standards:
The staff member must maintain a physical presentation that does not pose a hazard during student interactions or physical interventions. This includes a requirement that jewelry, piercings, or clothing accessories be minimized or secured in a manner that prevents them from being grabbed, caught, or causing injury during the performance of essential duties. The district reserves the right to require the removal or covering of any items deemed a foreseeable safety risk within the special education classroom setting.

Other Requirements:
Experience working with children ages 3 to 21 years old with diverse learning, communication and behavioral needs Capable and willing to assist students' physical needs, personal care and daily living activities, as needed Ability to implement strategies to support positive student behavior and foster engagement Willingness to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team, including classroom teachers, Child Study Team, BCBA, and related service providers Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members, both verbally and in writing Must be dependable, compassionate, and committed to maintaining a respectful and inclusive learning environment Must meet criminal background check
