A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Responsibilities:
Support lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and age-appropriate learning activities Supervise and engage children during afternoon routines, including snack time, rest time, and play Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment for all children Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance using positive reinforcement techniques Communicate effectively with parents and guardians during afternoon pick-up Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom space Observe and report on children's developmental progress and daily needs
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred Prior experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine love for working with children Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to pass a background check and meet NJ childcare licensing requirements CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Reliable, punctual, and committed to afternoon shift availability
