$16.00-$17.00 per hour Position Overview Village Babies Development Center is seeking a warm, dependable, and enthusiastic Part-Time Teaching Assistant to support our Toddler classroom and teaching team in providing a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. The Teaching Assistant will work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and classroom team to support daily routines, learning experiences, transitions, meals, rest periods, and the overall care and supervision of the children. The Teaching Assistant will help create an intentional and responsive classroom environment that supports each child's individual development across social-emotional, cognitive, physical, language, and other developmental domains. Teaching Assistants will support developmentally appropriate learning experiences using The Creative Curriculum® and practices aligned with Grow NJ quality standards. They will work closely with the Lead Teacher to maintain a consistent, organized, and engaging classroom environment. What You'll Do Support the Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines, activities, transitions, meals, and rest periods. Assist with implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Support the use of The Creative Curriculum® and practices aligned with Grow NJ quality standards. Help maintain a safe, nurturing, organized, and engaging classroom environment. Provide attentive supervision with a strong focus on children's health and safety. Support children's social-emotional development, independence, and positive interactions. Engage with children through play, conversation, activities, and everyday classroom experiences. Assist with classroom observations, documentation, and other records as directed. Maintain age-appropriate classroom materials, learning areas, and displays. Support classroom cleanliness, organization, and daily routines. Communicate professionally and collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and teaching team. Follow the direction of the Lead Teacher and administration while supporting classroom needs. Follow school policies, health and safety procedures, and applicable licensing requirements. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, training, and school activities as scheduled. Serve as a positive, caring, and professional role model for children and colleagues. Qualifications Previous experience working with toddlers or young children preferred. Strong understanding of or interest in child development and developmentally appropriate practices. Warm, patient, and responsive approach to working with young children. Ability to work collaboratively with Lead Teachers and colleagues. Strong communication and organizational skills. Dependable, responsible, punctual, and professional. Strong commitment to children's safety, well-being, and development. Ability to follow school policies, procedures, and applicable licensing requirements. Willingness to learn and grow as an early childhood professional. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Work Location:
In Person Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Early childhood education coursework, CDA or degree strongly preferred. Employment Requirements Must meet applicable New Jersey childcare employment and licensing requirements. Must successfully complete required background checks and employment screening. CPR/First Aid certification required or must be obtained within the required timeframe.
