MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1.AS degree:
60 credits of college-level coursework, Bachelor's degree preferred. 2. Highly Qualified Para-Professional status required. 3. Substitute certificate required. 4. Minimum experience as determined by the Board. 5. Knowledge of child growth and development and appropriate classroom practices and demonstrated ability to assist with instructional activities. 6. Good oral and written communication skills. 7. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.REPORTS TO

To promote the achievement of students' educational goals and learning objectives by providing supplemental and clerical services to assist the classroom teacher.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES
Believe and personify the mission, vision and goals of the school, and the Banneker System. Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning or material or skills introduced by the teacher. Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communication with students. Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and make-up work, as assigned by the teacher. Operates and cares for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes. Helps students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher. Assist with the supervision of student lunch periods. Distributes and collects workbooks, papers, and other materials for instruction. Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work assigned by the teacher. Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips. Helps the teacher to plan and maintain bulletin board and other classroom learning displays. Performs clerical duties related to the instructional programs including attendance reports, collection of money, duplication of materials, and distribution and return of notices home. Participates in all in-service training. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director(s) or Chief School Administrator/CEO. Understands that nothing contained herein shall supersede negotiated agreement, applicable statutes, laws or policies. Meets professional responsibilities and maintains a professional relationship of all school staff based on the principles of integrity.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Trustees.EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Special Education Director.Pay:
