Outreach Associate will provide and monitor participant services for the TRIO Student Support Services Program.EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as theTRIO SSS
Outreach Associate by identifying, planning, developing, and coordinating the participant services of the TRIO Student Support Services Program throughout the academic year Identify and selectTRIO SSS
Participants; provide programmatic services, including referrals, toTRIO SSS
Participants; monitorTRIO SSS
Participants' progress Contact and provide intervention services to assignedTRIO SSS
Participants DevelopTRIO SSS
Participant documentation; document allTRIO SSS
Participant contacts, programmatic services, and activitiesUpdateTRIO SSS
Participant records to reflect updated academic and career objectivesMaintain confidential FERPA-compliant program files on allTRIO SSS
Participants, activities, and services provided; maintain accurate data for project recordsParticipate in evaluating, improving, and integrating program services. Assist in all other program activities and develop programmatic reports, as neededParticipate in the development of the Department of Education Annual Performance ReportCollaborate with others, including TRIO SSS and ENMU campus staff, to ensure effective project implementation. Maintain good rapport with students and Eastern New Mexico University personnelAttend required meetings, trainings, and professional development; participate in committees, councils, and professional development activities, as assignedRegular and predictable attendance is required Perform other duties as assignedMinimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, is required.Preferred:
Master's degreeStrong background in accountingExperience interacting with students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgroundsTwo years' experience in college advising or mentoring Experience with TRIO programs/disability servicesBilingualKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of the practices, procedures, and activities necessary for the program to which assignedAbility to deal effectively with a variety of individuals and to communicate effectively both orally and in writingKnowledge regarding career servicesGeneral knowledge of the principles of individual and group behaviorAbility to maintain sensitivity to the needs of economically disadvantaged studentsSkilled in the use of standard office equipment: Computer, Copier, Scanner, etc.Skilled in Microsoft Office and other applicable computer applicationsStrong organizational and communication skills
