The ideal candidate will enjoy working with young children, be a positive team player, and help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about early childhood education and comfortable being actively involved with the children throughout the day—including singing, dancing, movement, play, and hands-on learning. Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans. Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. Provide individualized attention and support to meet each child's needs. Engage children in interactive learning through play, music, art, reading, movement, and hands-on activities. Help maintain a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment. Assist with classroom routines, transitions, meals, rest time, and outdoor activities. Supervise children at all times and follow all health and safety procedures. Observe children's behavior and development and communicate observations to the Lead Teacher. Assist with documenting children's progress and maintaining required classroom records. Maintain a clean, organized, sanitized, and orderly classroom. Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff members. Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and families. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities. Follow all school policies, procedures, and applicable childcare regulations. Qualifications & Skills Positive, patient, caring, and energetic personality. Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Creative and enthusiastic when working with young children. Comfortable singing, dancing, reading, and actively participating in classroom activities. Ability to follow directions and support the Lead Teacher. Well-organized, dependable, and committed to maintaining a professional classroom environment. Knowledge of classroom sanitation and disinfecting procedures. CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Spanish-speaking is a plus. Physical Requirements The Assistant Teacher must be physically able to actively participate in the classroom, including: Bending and kneeling. Sitting and working on the floor with children. Lifting and assisting children when necessary. Moving safely and quickly throughout the classroom and playground. Participating in active play, music, movement, and other children's activities. Minimum Requirements College credits in Early Childhood Education preferred/required based on applicable 3K staffing requirements. At least one year of classroom experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool, 3K, Pre-K, daycare, or childcare setting. Knowledge of early childhood development and classroom practices. Must be willing to complete all required background checks, fingerprinting, health clearances, and school-required documentation. Compensation & Benefits Pay:
