In this role, you will support classroom teachers in creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for children of various ages and developmental stages. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans aligned with educational standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional development. Support children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism, by adapting activities and providing personalized assistance. Help manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies. Facilitate communication using methods such as American Sign Language (ASL) when appropriate, to support deaf or hard-of-hearing students. Prepare classroom materials, set up learning stations, and maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to active learning. Monitor student progress and document observations related to development goals outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Collaborate with teachers on lesson planning, curriculum development, and assessment strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement. Requirements Prior experience working with children in early childhood education settings or preschool environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, teachers, and support staff. Ability to adapt activities for children with diverse learning needs and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere. Certification or training in early childhood education or related fields is advantageous; however, relevant experience can also be considered.
