PART-TIME TEACHING ASSISTANTS FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
Salary:

Job Description:
Guide individual students and groups of students toward gaining essential knowledge and skills as prescribed by the certified teacher.
Qualifications:
NYS Teaching Assistant Certification or Teaching Certification Experience working in a public or private school setting, preferred Experience working with students with individualized educational plans Fingerprinting clearance required Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to): Support the implementation of a specialized educational plan Select and implement appropriate instructional materials and activities based on the direction provided by the certified teacher Conduct learning exercises with individual and/or small groups of students Know and use appropriately varied strategies and materials for core academic and/or technology skills Implement and track behavior plans Assist with the de-escalation of students who are in crisis under the direction of a mental health professional Supervise and secure the safety of students who are at-risk for elopement, aggression, physical injury, and/or any other at-risk behavior as identified by the Committee on Special Education Complete an assignment for an individual student program or a class program Ability to support a program outside of Special Education in the capacity of a Teaching Assistant Other related duties as assigned
