Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by supporting young learners as a dedicated educational team member! Multiple opportunities are available for skilled paraprofessionals and teaching assistants to provide individualized support to preschool students and students in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) programs. This rewarding contract role offers a chance to collaborate at several school sites, offering vital assistance and making each day count. Candidates with experience in school settings, specifically in behavior support or working with preschool children, are encouraged to apply. Comfort with hands-on care, such as changing diapers, is appreciated, given the specific needs of the students. For those applying as assistants, a current New York State Teachers Assistant Certification is required; applicants for aide positions should have relevant school or behavioral experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience working with preschool-aged children or in behavioral support settings For assistant roles: valid NY Teachers Assistant Certification Ability to work 1:1 with students, supporting individual needs Comfortable providing personal care, including diapering, as required Passion for fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct support and guidance to assigned students throughout the school day Implement individualized strategies for students in ASD programs Engage in creative, supportive, and proactive behavioral interventions Cooperate with classroom teachers and therapists to advance students academic and social development Maintain positive, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families
