Job Description
Hunter Business School is the leading educational, business and technical school on Long Island. Our campus located in Medford, NY has the following opportunity: Medical Assistant Instructor We are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience working within a physician's office or laboratory to join our faculty for our day sessions which are Monday - Thursday, 8:30am-3:30pm and Fridays from 8:30am - 3:00pm. The Medical Assistant Instructor is responsible for teaching one to two courses described in the Medical Assistant program each cycle. This includes utilizing effective teaching tools such as audio/visual equipment and reference materials; preparing lesson plans and learning experiences; following an established course outline; managing a classroom of students; evaluating students through testing and other related means and reporting on and recording class and individual student progress.
Requirements:
- 2+ years clinical experience working within a physician's office. Skills such as phlebotomy, vital signs, ECG, urinalysis, wound care, EMR/EHR, light billing and coding, filing, pharmacology, medical asepsis, patient care, customer service skills.
- Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Knowledge of Google Workspace using applications such as Google Docs, Forms, Sheets and Google Classroom a plus
- An ability to learn new methodologies and systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Teaching experience a plus
