Job Description

Suffolk DBT is seeking a warm, organized, emotionally grounded, and highly motivated individual interested in the mental health field to join our team as a DBT Program Assistant / Behavioral Health Outreach Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering a future career in: Social Work Psychology Mental Health Counseling Behavioral Health Marriage & Family Therapy Psychiatric Nursing The ideal candidate is eager to learn, hard-working, emotionally mature, and genuinely interested in helping individuals and families seeking treatment. No prior DBT experience is required. We are willing to train the right person. This role offers exposure to a comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program serving children, teens, adults, and families across Long Island and NYC.
Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Conducting intake and screening calls with prospective clients Providing compassionate and professional communication to individuals seeking treatment Educating clients about the structure of comprehensive DBT treatment Assisting with client outreach and follow-up communication Supporting social media and educational content creation Assisting with website updates and online engagement Helping organize program materials and administrative systems Supporting the clinical and administrative team with ongoing projects Learning about DBT principles, treatment structure, and behavioral approaches What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Warm, professional, and emotionally grounded Organized and dependable Comfortable speaking with clients experiencing emotional distress Interested in learning about DBT and behavioral psychology Strong in interpersonal communication Able to maintain professionalism and confidentiality Open to feedback and eager to grow Self-motivated and proactive Able to regulate emotions and remain calm under pressure Preferred Qualifications Ideal for: Recent graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field Students preparing for graduate programs in mental health Individuals seeking experience in a behavioral health setting Experience is helpful but not required. We value interpersonal strengths, emotional maturity, and willingness to learn over prior experience alone.
