Teacher's Aide - Pre-K 3 & Pre-K 4 Our Lady of Victory School in Mount Vernon, NY is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Teacher's Aide to work with our 3- and 4-year-old students. The ideal candidate will be warm, nurturing, patient, and committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for young children.

$15.00 per hour Responsibilities Ensure that all children are supervised and accounted for at all times Conduct frequent student counts, especially when transitioning between classrooms, activities, meals, rest time, and outdoor play Assist the classroom teacher with daily lessons, centers, activities, routines, and classroom organization Provide a safe, warm, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment Engage children in conversation and learning throughout the day, including during centers, meals, play, and outdoor activities Provide one-on-one assistance and additional support to students when needed Assist children with daily living skills, including restroom use, dressing, handwashing, and other age-appropriate needs Support positive behavior and consistently reinforce classroom and school expectations Supervise students when the classroom teacher briefly needs to step out Assist with meals and snacks, including food distribution, family-style dining, cleanup, and sanitation Assist the teacher in observing student development, strengths, and areas needing additional support Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom Serve as a classroom "floater" when needed, including assisting with lunch duty, rest time, and other Pre-K classrooms Participate in staff and team meetings as required Develop positive and professional relationships with students, families, faculty, and staff Follow all school health, safety, and supervision procedures Notify the appropriate supervisor promptly in the event of an unexpected absence Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Experience working with young children preferred Patient, nurturing, dependable, and attentive Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers and other school staff Ability to actively supervise young children throughout the school day Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for preschool-aged children preferred Must maintain professionalism and represent the values and expectations of Our Lady of Victory School at all times We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children and understands the importance of active supervision, patience, consistency, and creating a positive early-childhood experience.
