Qualifications:

Active New York State Teaching Assistant certification is required Previous experience as a paraprofessional or teacher assistant in a school setting is highly desirable Strong communication and collaborative skills Ability to engage effectively with middle school-aged students Adaptability and initiative in a fast-paced environment Commitment to student growth and development

Responsibilities:

Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional tasks and classroom management Work one-on-one and in small groups with students who need additional support Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodation strategies Supervise students both in and out of the classroom, including at lunch and during transitions Support the organization and preparation of classroom materials Encourage a positive, inclusive environment where every student feels valued Communicate regularly with teachers and staff regarding student progress and needs By taking on this role, youll play a key part in shaping the middle school experience for students.
