Job Description
Corpus Christi-Holy Rosary School is seeking a caring, dependable, energetic, and collaborative Teacher Aide to join our Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program. The Teacher Aide will work closely with the UPK Lead Teacher and support the daily academic, social-emotional, physical, and developmental needs of our young learners. We are looking for an individual who genuinely enjoys working with young children and who will contribute to a warm, safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate understands that every child is unique and is committed to helping children develop confidence, independence, positive relationships, and a love of learning. Essential Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Assist with implementation of the Creative Curriculum and classroom learning experiences under the direction of the Lead Teacher. Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce early literacy, mathematics, language, social-emotional, and fine/gross motor skills. Support students during centers, arrival, dismissal, transitions, meals, rest time, outdoor play, and special activities. Assist children with age-appropriate self-help skills, including toileting, handwashing, dressing, and personal care. Actively supervise children at all times and maintain appropriate safety procedures. Help maintain an organized, clean, welcoming, and stimulating classroom. Assist with preparing classroom materials, learning centers, displays, and activities. Encourage positive behavior through developmentally appropriate guidance and redirection. Build positive and respectful relationships with students, families, teachers, and school staff. Support an inclusive classroom environment that respects the cultural, linguistic, developmental, and individual needs of every child. Communicate regularly and professionally with the Lead Teacher and UPK Director. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school activities, and required training. Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters. Support the Catholic identity and mission of Corpus Christi-Holy Rosary School by modeling kindness, respect, compassion, responsibility, and service. Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher, UPK Director, or school administration. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or a degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, or a related field preferred. Previous experience working with young children preferred. Experience in a preschool, UPK, daycare, classroom, camp, or educational setting is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a classroom team. Patient, nurturing, dependable, flexible, and enthusiastic. Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced early childhood environment. Commitment to the safety, well-being, and success of young children. Willingness to complete all required background checks, clearances, and school/Archdiocesan training. The ideal Teacher Aide will be someone who: Loves working with young children.
