Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per Diem Atlantic Group is hiring a School-Based Paraprofessional in New York for our client, supporting K-12 students in classroom settings. Full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities are available for candidates providing 1:1 and small group support to students with academic, behavioral, developmental, and special education needs. Responsibilities as the
School-Based Paraprofessional:
Student Support:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with academic and behavioral needs.
Classroom Assistance:
Support teachers with instruction, classroom activities, and daily routines.
Behavioral Support:
Assist with behavior management strategies and intervention plans.
Student Engagement:
Encourage participation, focus, and positive social interaction in the classroom.
Documentation:
Track student progress and communicate updates with teachers and school staff. Qualifications for the
School-Based Paraprofessional:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Certification:
Teacher Assistant ( TA ), Home Health Aide ( HHA ), or Certified Nursing Assistant ( CNA ) certification is required.
Experience:
Prior experience as a Paraprofessional, Teacher Assistant, Teacher Aide, HHA, CNA, or in a similar support role is required.
Industry Knowledge:
Experience supporting children or individuals with special needs is required.
Technical Skills:
Ability to provide classroom, behavioral, or one-on-one support while following instructional plans is required.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, school staff, and families are required.
