Support students with disabilities by providing physical assistance, behavioral management, and behavioral disorders support to promote positive classroom experiences. Use effective behavior management techniques to support students with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Collaborate with other professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and counselors to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs. Incorporate communication skills such as American Sign Language (ASL) when appropriate to facilitate effective interaction with students who have communication challenges. Support classroom management by maintaining a structured environment conducive to learning, including handling confidential information responsibly. Assist with classroom support activities like basic math instruction, literacy education, toddler care, and childcare routines to foster early childhood development. Skills Proven experience working with children or students with disabilities in classroom or childcare settings. Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education strategies. Knowledge of special education practices, including behavior management for students with behavioral disorders or autism spectrum disorders. Familiarity with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) guidelines and how they apply within educational settings. Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while supporting students' educational journeys. Experience working with students with IEPs and supporting their individual learning goals. Physical ability to provide necessary assistance for special education students requiring mobility or physical support. Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities efficiently while maintaining a positive learning environment.
