Duties Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans aligned with educational standards such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) to promote student achievement across literacy, math, and other core subjects. Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions to ensure safety and positive behavior management. Support students with disabilities or special needs by adapting instructional materials and providing individualized assistance to foster inclusive learning experiences. Help maintain a well-organized classroom environment by preparing materials, proofreading educational resources, and managing supplies efficiently. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom events to build strong home-school connections. Utilize educational technologies and computers to enhance learning activities and support digital literacy development among students. Collaborate with teachers on behavior management strategies and classroom behavior management techniques to create a respectful and productive atmosphere. Skills Strong understanding of childhood development principles and experience working with young children or individuals with disabilities. Proven ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while maintaining a positive learning environment through behavior management techniques. Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, teachers, parents, and colleagues clearly and professionally. Experience in special education settings or working with students on the autism spectrum is highly desirable. Knowledge of educational compliance regulations such as ESSA ensures adherence to state and federal standards. Ability to mentor students who need additional support in literacy education or math fundamentals. First aid and CPR certification to ensure safety during emergencies; knowledge of childcare best practices is a plus. Comfortable using computers and educational technologies to facilitate interactive learning experiences.
Pay:
$17.00 - $17.50 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
