Job Description

Job Summary The Special Education Teacher Assistant plays a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs in an educational setting. This position involves working closely with students to assist in and out of the classroom. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, patience, and the ability to foster a positive learning environment. Duties Collaborate with special education teachers to implement curriculums tailored to each student's specific needs highlighting their strengths, needs, and abilities, while addressing the goals listed within the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). Provide direct support to students in various educational settings, including classrooms, related services rooms, and other learning environments. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, especially those requiring additional assistance. Assist in the development and implementation of instructional materials and activities designed to enhance academic, social, and emotional growth. Monitor student progress and behavior, documenting observations and reporting findings to the supervising teacher. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social and emotional development of students. Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to privacy laws and school policies. Assist with the organization and management of classroom materials and resources. Collaborate with other school staff, such as therapists, counselors, and administrators, to support student development. Attend training sessions, workshops, and meetings as required to enhance professional skills and knowledge. Other duties as assigned by the administration. Requirements Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution in any field is mandatory. Display of genuine passion and unwavering commitment towards fostering the success of students. Exemplary punctuality, ensuring timely attendance and adherence to established schedules. Proficiency in communication skills, enabling effective and articulate interaction with students, colleagues, and interested parties. Ability to comfortably commute to the School daily.
