Key Qualifications:

Experience working in schools, specifically with preschool-aged children and students with behavioral needs Background in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) preferred For assistant roles: current New York State Teaching Assistant Certification required Comfort and experience assisting with personal care tasks, such as diaper changes Reliability and a positive, flexible attitude with a passion for helping children succeed Ability to commit to onsite work throughout the school year

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide focused support to a single student (1:1), helping them achieve classroom goals and address behavioral or developmental needs Assist with daily classroom routines and foster a safe, welcoming environment where students can thrive Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and fellow aides to deliver holistic, individualized support Utilize positive behavior guidance, patience, and professional communication skills Support ASD program classrooms as needed and maintain accurate documentation of student progress
