Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a dedicated professional specializing in behavior and special education assistance. This full-time position is available immediately and runs through June 2027, with the potential for renewal based on performance and fit. In this role, you will play a vital part in the educational journey of students, particularly those with autism and behavioral support needs. Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
Demonstrated experience working as a paraprofessional or behavior specialist in a school setting. Proven background supporting autistic students, including implementing behavior intervention strategies. Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication skills and a patient, positive approach to challenging behaviors. Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations in a dynamic classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support and reinforcement to students in individual and small group settings. Assist teachers with classroom management and the implementation of behavioral interventions. Monitor and document student progress, reporting observations to teachers and specialists. Foster a safe and supportive atmosphere that encourages student growth and participation. Collaborate with educational staff to customize learning strategies and behavior supports.
