What You'll Bring:
Previous experience working as a paraprofessional, especially with students who have profound or severe disabilities Strong communication skills and the ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students with unique needs Flexible mindset to adjust to day-to-day changes in assignment and student support High school diploma or equivalent (some locations may require additional credentials or background checks)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to students for academics, self-care, and behavior management under the guidance of teachers and special education staff Assist with physical needs, including lifting, personal care, and mobility Adapt classroom materials and activities to meet student IEP goals Foster a positive, respectful atmosphere that encourages student participation and growth Maintain accurate records of student progress and interactions Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure comprehensive support Experience the reward of making a direct difference in students' lives while enjoying the flexible, varied environment of per diem assignments throughout the academic year.
