Job Description

ASSISTANT TEACHER
This full-time position is with our Delaware Head Start/Early Head Start Center. This position is responsible to assist the classroom teacher in providing a successful, safe, and supervised educational setting for the children while they are in the Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area, and field trips). To assist the classroom teacher in promoting the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of Head Start children. To provide frequent contact with the families of the Head Start children in the classroom and at home. To assist the classroom teacher with keeping accurate written notes to help develop individualized goals for the children, provide on-going assessment and successful transition into kindergarten. The successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Applicants with High School diploma or equivalent, must obtain a CDA within two (2) years from date of hire. Preference will be given to applicants with an Associate's degree or higher, Pre-K certification or licensure. Applicant must have a valid Ohio Driver's License, proof of auto insurance, and a clean driving record for work related driving. Must be able to sign a non-conviction statement, complete a background check and a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Salary range $16.35 - $23.75 per hour depending upon education and license.
