Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our vibrant educational team. In this versatile role, you will support classroom teachers by assisting with instructional activities, supervising children, and ensuring a positive learning environment. As a floater, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple classrooms, providing essential coverage and fostering consistency in student support. This paid position offers an exciting chance to contribute to early childhood development while gaining valuable classroom experience. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about working with children of diverse needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions to ensure safety and engagement. Support classroom behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions and emotional well-being. Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment by preparing materials and classroom setups. Collaborate with teachers on individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities or special needs. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom events. Utilize educational technologies and computers to enhance learning experiences for young children. Follow all educational compliance regulations and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures. Skills Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Experience working with children in classroom settings, including those with autism or other special needs. Proficiency in classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail such as proofreading educational materials. Knowledge of educational technologies and computers used for instruction and record-keeping. Experience collaborating with teachers on curriculum planning and student assessments.
