Under the direction of the Program Director, in cooperation with other Y staff, the Lead Program Assistant will manage the operations of the Program Department, including but not limited to program support, staff recruitment, staff supervision, and training/development. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work with Program Director to promote youth and family programming and increase participation across all programming venues. Plan, organize, and conduct programming that meets or exceeds the expectations and needs of the community while also supporting the developed budget. Be readily available during programming to assist and support (as scheduled). Conduct orientation for all participants/guardians, identifying the goals and objectives, as well as the specific skills to be taught in the program. Recruit and motivate instructors and volunteers in accordance with the direction determined above. With Program Director, plan and develop instructor training curriculum by which instructors are developed and evaluated. Set, manage, and communicate the standard for progression among the various skill levels, with direction of the Program Director. Effectively manage the substitution process and fill in when needed to maintain member satisfaction and expectations. Distribute and compile program evaluations for each session of progressive instruction. Coordinate classes/games/practices for securing instructors, referees, score keepers, and coaches and implementing the program set forth. Be available for evenings and weekends.

$11.00 - $12.50 per hour Expected hours: No more than 24.0 per week
