Job Description
Head Start Assistant Teacher Make a Difference in the Lives of Young Children! Washington-Morgan Counties Community Action Program is seeking a dedicated and caring Head Start Assistant Teacher to join our team. This position plays an important role in creating a safe, healthy, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Position Summary The Head Start Assistant Teacher works alongside the classroom teacher to support children's learning and development. The position assists in creating a positive classroom environment, provides encouragement and support to children and families, and helps ensure compliance with all Head Start Performance Standards. Education & Experience Applicants must have a high school diploma and meet one of the following requirements:
- Hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds CDA requirements; OR
- Be enrolled in a program leading to an Associate's or Bachelor's degree ; OR
- Be willing to enroll in a CDA credential program that will be completed within two years of the hire date. Starting pay is based on education level:
High School Diploma:
$12.28 per hourCDA Credential:
$13.82 per hourAssociate's Degree:
$15.83 per hourBachelor's Degree:
