Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Head Start Assistant Teacher and Family Support Specialist, where you will play a vital role in fostering early childhood development and empowering families. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with young children, supporting their educational growth and social-emotional well-being while providing essential family engagement services. You will collaborate with educators, families, and community partners to create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment that promotes literacy, math skills, and positive behavior management. Your energetic approach will inspire young learners and strengthen family connections, making a meaningful difference in their lives. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans focused on early childhood education, including literacy, math, and classroom management strategies Support classroom activities that promote social-emotional growth, behavior management, and inclusive practices for children with diverse needs such as autism or disabilities Engage children in hands-on learning experiences tailored to toddler care, preschool, and Montessori methods to foster curiosity and foundational skills Collaborate with families through home visits, parent meetings, and community outreach to provide guidance on childhood development and educational resources Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that encourages active participation and independent learning Contribute to curriculum development by incorporating best practices in early childhood education and adapting lessons for individual student needs Support children's behavioral needs using positive reinforcement techniques and effective classroom management strategies Experience Prior experience working with young children in classroom settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools is highly desirable Knowledge of special education principles and working with individuals with autism or disabilities enhances your ability to support diverse learners Demonstrated ability to develop lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, and Montessori or other child-centered curricula Experience working with families from diverse backgrounds through community outreach or family support programs is a plus Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with colleagues and engaging effectively with parents and guardians Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom management tools ensures a positive learning environment Previous roles involving toddler care or preschool experience will help you excel in this dynamic position The pay range is $13.32-14.69 in accordance with the OAPSE wage scale effective 3.1.26. Minimum requirements is a CDA, or willingness to enroll in a CDA program to be completed within 2 years. Currently there is an online CDA program and ALL fees have been waived! Associates degree in ECE or related field preferred, EXPERIENCE
