Job Description

Pontotoc Technology Center is seeking a dedicated and dependable Instructional Assistant for Service Industries to support our instructors, direct instructional activities, and help empower students for successful careers. In this position, you will work closely with the Director of Instructional Services and classroom instructors to deliver quality support, enforce industry safety standards, and foster a positive, productive educational environment. As an Instructional Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include assisting with daily classroom and shop activities, managing clerical tasks, and providing direct support to students. A key component of this role is operating a daily bus route to handle student pick-up and drop-off to area partner schools. When qualified, you may also serve as a substitute for full-time programs and assist with various instructional needs across campus. The ideal candidate possesses strong interpersonal skills, practical computer experience, and basic mathematical and communication abilities to effectively engage with students and staff. Experience in a relevant trade area is preferred. To qualify, candidates must hold a High School Diploma or GED, meet Tier 1 Paraprofessional requirements, possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License, and be able to pass required background checks and drug screenings. A Class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements is strongly preferred.
Key Qualifications & Requirements Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Certifications & Licenses:
Valid Oklahoma Driver's License required. CDL Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements preferred. Must meet Tier 1 Paraprofessional requirements.
Experience:
Computer experience and relevant trade industry experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
