Who we are Roosevelt Academy is a Cognia-accredited private school in Oklahoma City for neurodiverse learners in kindergarten through twelfth grade. We serve students with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, dyslexia, and other learning differences. Our founder built this school because the system failed her own son. Today he is in college, drives, and lives independently. She built Roosevelt so other families would not have to fight as hard as she did. We do things differently here. How we teach, how we support students, and how we structure the day are all designed specifically for neurodiverse learners. You will learn our approach when you join. What we need you to bring is the right character. The role As a Paraprofessional / Navigator Assistant, you work alongside our lead staff to support neurodiverse students throughout their day. You are on the floor with students, not behind a desk. You help deliver instruction, support students who are struggling, celebrate students who are growing, and keep the daily rhythm of the school running smoothly. Some moments you are guiding a child through a learning activity. The next moment you are helping a child who is overwhelmed find their calm. The moment after that you are noticing that a quiet child in the corner needs someone to check in. This role requires presence, awareness, and the ability to shift gears without losing your footing. You are not a bystander. You are an active, essential part of every student's experience. What we need from you

• You think on your feet. When something is not working, you adjust. Quickly, calmly, without waiting for instructions.
• You are creative. You can find more than one way to reach a child. If the first approach does not land, you try another. You see possibilities where other people see problems.
• You stay calm when things get hard. A child is upset, the room is loud, and the plan just changed. You do not freeze. You do not raise your voice. You stay steady because the children need you to be steady.
• You work independently. You take ownership of your responsibilities without needing to be reminded or supervised. You see what needs to happen and you handle it.
• You can hold multiple things at once. You can support one student while keeping awareness of five others. You notice the child who just went quiet when everyone else is focused on the one who is loud.
• You genuinely connect with neurodiverse kids. Not in a 'they inspire me' way. In a 'I understand how they think and I find them fascinating' way. You see the child first, not the diagnosis.
• You are coachable. You do not need to know everything on day one. You need to be willing to learn, take feedback, and grow. We will train you on everything you need to know about how Roosevelt works. What you do NOT need
• A teaching certificate. We do not require one. We hire for character, calm, and capability, and we train you ourselves.
• Years of classroom experience. Some of the best people in this kind of role come from direct support work, therapy settings, youth mentoring, adaptive recreation, military service, or other fields where staying calm, building relationships, and working independently are already second nature.
• A perfect resume. We care more about who you are than where you have been. What you get
• A four-day work week. Monday through Thursday. Your Fridays are yours.
• A team that supports you. You are never alone with a crisis. We have your back the way we expect you to have the students' backs.
• Real training. You will be trained on our methods, our systems, and our approach before you are in front of students. We do not throw people in and hope for the best.
