This full-time opportunity is perfect for experienced paraprofessionals who are passionate about making a difference. Provide essential guidance to one 6th-grade student, ensuring their educational growth from now through May 2027. Youll collaborate with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning experience, focusing on specialized support for a student with autism.
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous paraprofessional experience required, preferably in a school setting Demonstrated history of working with children on the autism spectrum Ability to implement individualized support plans and follow behavioral strategies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, teachers, and families Patience, compassion, and commitment to fostering student independence Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct, one-on-one assistance to a 6th-grade student with autism Support academic, social, and behavioral development according to the students individualized plan Assist with classroom activities, assignments, and transitions throughout the school day Utilize evidence-based strategies to enhance student participation and learning Collaborate with educators and related service providers to track progress and adapt interventions as needed Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging positive peer interactions Maintain records of student activities and communicate regularly with the educational team This is a full-time position, averaging 35 hours per week during the school year, with a contract period extending through May 2027.
