Job Description

Job Title:
Reading Support Qualifications:

Credentials, as required by the State of Oklahoma.

Reports to:

Site Principal and/ or

Assistant Principal/Assistant Director of Academic Services Performance Responsibilities:

Collaborate with district leadership, building administration and reading support team to discuss and coordinate in regards to Strong Readers Law, student needs, district-wide programs, resources and the district SRA Plan. . Inform/update principals, teachers and staff of changes made to Site SRA Plan and legislation. Assist principal in ensuring compliance with the Strong Readers Act requirements. Maintain accurate Strong Readers Act, Student Literacy Intervention Plan, and Response to Intervention records. Coordinate the communication of student progress through report cards, parent/teacher conferences, and other means of communication. Provide targeted reading instruction to students qualifying based on state and district assessments. Collaborate with building administrators to provide professional development for teachers. Serve as a resource for the teachers and parents. Maintain confidentiality. Abide by all district, federal and state laws, policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Terms of Employment:

Number of calendar days and compensation based on approved certified schedule and employee work calendars

Evaluation:

Evaluation by site principal and/ or assistant principal in accordance with

BOE Policy DNA Teacher Evaluation Physical Demands:

Ability to stand, walk and squat frequently. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently. Ability to do outside duties in inclement weather. Ability to walk or move long distances from location to location around the building multiple times each day.
