Job Description

Mizel Jewish Community Day School is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Elementary Paraprofessional to support our combined 2nd and 3rd grade classroom of 12 students . This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working with elementary-aged children and wants to be part of a small, close-knit school community where teachers are able to truly know and support each student. Responsibilities Assist the classroom teacher with daily lessons, activities, and classroom routines. Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce academic skills. Provide additional support to students during reading, math, writing, and other subject areas. Help students stay organized, focused, and engaged in classroom activities. Support positive behavior and social-emotional development. Assist with classroom transitions, recess, lunch, field trips, and special activities as needed. Help prepare classroom materials and maintain an organized learning environment. Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other Mizel JCDS staff. Help create a warm, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred. Patient, positive, dependable, and able to build strong relationships with children. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn and take direction from the classroom teacher. Ability to work in a busy classroom environment and respond flexibly to student needs. Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and professionalism.
