9446973-97045 Job Description Support a rewarding educational journey as a 1:1 paraprofessional working with a high-needs student at the post-secondary transition level. This contract opportunity is located near Oregon City, OR, with consistent hours from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Your day will begin and end by accompanying the student on the bus to ensure a safe and seamless transition to and from school. In the classroom, youll collaborate closely with a paraeducator and a special education teacher, contributing to a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role within schools Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students with high needs, showing patience, empathy, and adaptability Team player comfortable collaborating with teaching staff and following individualized education plans Strong communication skills for interacting with both students and colleagues Ability to safely assist with transportation, accompanying the student on the bus as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated one-on-one support to a student at the post-secondary transition level throughout the school day Assist with classroom activities, following guidance from the special education teacher and fellow paraeducator Adapt support strategies based on student needs and daily routines Ensure student safety and well-being during transport to and from school Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment This is a meaningful role for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with unique learning needs.
