Pay Rate:

$16.56

•$19.17 per hour

Hours/Days:

28 hours per week /4 days per week / 165 days per year

APPLICATION JOB SUMMARY

The Individualized Instructional Assistant provides individualized academic, behavioral, and personal support to a student with identified needs under the direction of the special education teacher, classroom teacher, and administration. DUTIES This not an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, duties, or functions associated with the job. Provide one-to-one, small group or whole group for instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional support throughout the school day. Implement accommodations, modifications, behavior support plans, and instructional strategies as directed by the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) and supervising staff. Assist the student in accessing classroom instruction while promoting independence whenever possible. Prepare and provide specialized meals and snacks in accordance with medical, dietary, and safety requirements. Support the student with daily routines, transitions, organization, and classroom participation. Maintain accurate daily documentation, including academic progress, behavior data, health-related information, and other required logs. Communicate regularly and collaborate with the classroom teacher, special education teacher, administration, related service providers, and other staff to ensure consistent implementation of student supports. Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with district policy and applicable state and federal laws. Assist in maintaining a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment. Help individuals develop and strengthen life skills, including daily routines, communication, independence, and community participation. Provide encouragement and hands-on support while promoting independence and personal choice. Assist with personal care needs, including toileting, as needed, while maintaining dignity, privacy, and respect. Support individuals with daily routines and activities in a safe, positive, and supportive environment. Follow individualized care plans and communicate appropriately with families, caregivers, and team members. Perform other duties as assigned that support the educational program and the needs of the student.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent or 1 to 2 years' related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior successful experience working in a school setting or with children strongly preferred. Background check conducted.
