Description:
Join Our Team as a Teacher Assistant! Are you passionate about early childhood education and making a positive difference in the lives of young children? We're looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Head Start team as Teacher Assistant! In this essential role, you'll work alongside a team of educators to create a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive. What You'll Do Support teachers in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities. Interact positively with children to promote their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Assist in maintaining a safe, healthy, and organized classroom environment. Step into the lead role in the teacher's absence. Communicate daily with parents and staff to support each child's development. Maintain accurate records such as attendance, assessments, and progress notes. Implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) strategies. Why Join Us? The ideal candidate will have:
Passion for working with young children. Team-player mindset and a positive, professional attitude. Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain). Ability to pass a physical exam and background checks. A Few More Details This is a non-exempt (hourly) position under the supervision of the Education Supervisor. Travel is generally not required but may occasionally occur. This institution is an Equal Opportunity Provider.
Schedule:
Typically Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM during the school year
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
All positions must have experience with young children and their families; such as knowledge of human development, family dynamics and the needs of children. Knowledge of the health, nutrition, social, and educational needs of the young child.
Teacher Assistant :
Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. Obtain a CDA within 24 months of hire. [Starting rate $13.89]
Teacher Assistant II :
Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and a CDA in Early Childhood Education. [Starting rate $16.50]
Teacher Assistant I :
Possess an AA in Early Childhood Education. [Starting rate $17.74]
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Capable of participating in active play and physical activities with children. Must be able to frequently bend, kneel, stoop, sit on the floor, reach overhead, and safely navigate stairs, step stools, and step ladders.
