Job Description

We are accepting applications for an Itinerant Emotional Support Teacher. New employees are expected to attend New Teacher Orientation on August 13th & 14th, and the week of staff professional development beginning August 17th. The first day of school for students is August 24, 2026. The Itinerant Emotional Support Teacher is responsible for planning, instruction, assessment, case management, and behavioral support for students receiving emotional support services. The teacher provides direct instruction, specially designed instruction, accommodations, and behavioral interventions aligned to each student's IEP, Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA), Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBSP), and/or Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP). The teacher works collaboratively with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators to support student access to the SLCS curriculum while promoting emotional regulation, social skills, executive functioning, positive behavior, and successful participation in the least restrictive environment.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education certification in Special Education Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to inclusive learning practices Demonstrated knowledge and experience in emotional support programming, curriculum adaptation, specially designed instruction, IEP accommodations, and IEP implementation Demonstrated knowledge of behavior intervention, FBA/PBSP/BIP development and implementation, data collection, progress monitoring, and positive behavior supports Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Strong research, planning, and organizational skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build positive relationships with students to support their development Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Thank you for your interest in a position with School Lane Charter School.
