Job Description

Danville Area School District's Head Start Pre-K program has an opening for an energetic and motivated Classroom Aide / Teacher Aide. High School diploma or equivalent required. This is a school year position, working Monday through Friday, August through June. This position will work approximately 29.5 hours per week. Classroom Aide / Teacher Aide Responsibilities include: Work with preschool children Assist teacher in providing a learning environment and experiences which will help each child to develop socially, emotionally, intellectually, physically and creatively Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy physical environment, conducive to learning and reflective of the different stages of development of the children Ability to actively supervise children Ride the bus and be responsible for the children on the bus, riding safely in their restraints (Must be able to sit in the center of the bus) Assist with changing diapers, tooth brushing, potty training, meals and other areas of personal hygiene Become certified in First Aid/CPR and Safe Crisis Management and perform if necessary Implement PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) with fidelity Classroom Aide / Teacher Aide Requirements include : High School diploma or GED certificate Flexibility and adaptability to change A patient and understanding manner with children Perform the following activities without any health restrictions several times a day: stoop, run, drive, sit, walk, bend, lift children, hear and see within normal ranges, be outside in all seasons Valid driver's license Act 34, 114, 126 and 151 clearances
