Job Description

Seeking experienced paraprofessionals ready to make a significant impact supporting students with severe autism and behavioral needs. This is a contract opportunity to work in highly structured special education classrooms, providing critical one-on-one and group assistance in a dynamic environment.
Highlights:
Full-time schedule: MondayFriday, 37.5 hours/week (7:30 AM3:00 PM or 8:00 AM3:30 PM) Assignment through the end of the 2026-2027 school year (tentative end date: 06/12/2027) Mandatory orientation week prior to assignment (8:30 AM4:30 PM) Caseload includes high school or elementary (K-8) students in severe autism support programs
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 years experience as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom working with children with severe autism and behavioral challenges Comfortable implementing intensive behavioral plans, safety protocols, and hands-on support (including toileting, diapering, feeding, lifting/transfers) Must reside within 35 minutes of the job location for reliable attendance and punctuality Eligibility to meet Pennsylvanias state paraprofessional requirements (see below); must obtain certification within 60 days if not already qualified Two positive paraprofessional supervisory references required Willingness to comply with all required clearances before orientation
Responsibilities:
Support students with severe autism exhibiting aggressive or self-injurious behaviors Implement individualized safety plans and collaborate with special education teams Maintain a proactive, supportive, and safe classroom environment Assist with daily living activities and mobility needs throughout the school day Attend all required trainings and orientations
Pennsylvania State Requirements:
At least two years of post-secondary education (48 credits), OR Associate degree or higher, OR Completion of the states certification modules within 60 days of hire Step into a rewarding role at the heart of student support.
