Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Job Description

  • Preschool Teacher
  • Duties:
  • Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for preschool-aged children
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
  • Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning
  • Conduct assessments to track each child's progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to support each child's individual needs
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
  • Ensure the health and safety of all children in the classroom
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
  • Ability to effectively communicate with young children, parents, and colleagues
  • Experience in providing toddler care and implementing developmentally appropriate activities
  • Knowledge of special education techniques and strategies for inclusion in the classroom
  • Familiarity with childcare regulations and licensing requirements
  • Excellent behavior management skills to create a positive learning environment
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Strong organizational skills to plan lessons and manage classroom materials
  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Previous experience working in a daycare or preschool setting
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
