•3:45 PM Job Description We are seeking dedicated Instructional Assistants (IA) to support elementary students in an Intensive Autistic Support classroom. In this role, you will provide direct academic, behavioral, social, and personal care support to students with autism spectrum disorder and complex learning or developmental needs. You will work closely alongside classroom teachers, special education staff, therapists, and school administrators to create a safe, structured, and effective learning environment.

Responsibilities Student Support:

Deliver 1-on-1 and small group academic instruction, helping students engage with coursework and develop essential communication and social skills.

Personal Care:

Assist students with activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, diaper changing, feeding, hygiene, and mobility support.

Behavior Management:

Implement Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) and de-escalation techniques to support students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.

Classroom Assistance:

Assist with classroom management, daily activity transitions, recess, lunch, and related school events while ensuring student safety.

Collaboration & Progress:

Partner with teachers, special education teams, and related service providers to monitor and foster student growth.

Qualifications & SkillsRequired:

High School Diploma or equivalent standard education. Prior experience working with children or students. Ability to assist students with personal care tasks (toileting, feeding, changing). Strong emotional stability, patience, and ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

Preferred:

Background in Autistic Support, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Behavioral/Mental Health, Caregiving, or Human Services. Clearance & Credentialing Requirements Candidates must possess or complete the following credentials prior to start (must be current within 12 months): PA Child Abuse Clearance PA Criminal Background Check PA FBI Fingerprint Clearance Negative TB Test Result High School Diploma or Official Transcripts CPR and First Aid Certification Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available to qualified candidates who meet eligibility requirements.
