Job Description

Lifesteps is hiring several Part-Time Day Program Aides for the Adult Training Facility in Eighty Four, PA (Washington County). Lifesteps is a human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years by helping individuals and families with life's changing needs . The Agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential. POSITION SUMMARY
Have fun while you work and bring joy into the lives of the Day Program participants! The Day Program Aide / Caregiver is responsible for assisting adults who have disabilities with activities in the Adult Training Facility such as vocation training, basic work skills, basic hygiene, basic money management, community participation, crafts and activities and other life skills. The Program Assistant (Caregiver) observes and reports on the accomplishments of participants, while maintaining a safe and clean environment. Staff also transport participants in the Agency vehicle out into the community for learning, engagement and fun activities. This position works part-time with a schedule of 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. No Evenings, No Weekends, No Holidays!
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High School Diploma/GED Current driver s license with the ability to travel utilizing an Agency vehicle Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)•provided by Lifesteps First aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within six (6) months•provided by Lifesteps Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 200 pounds
With Assistance Preferred:
One year experience working with individuals with disabilities in the human services field•such as direct care aide, home health aide, personal care assistant, direct support professional, medical assistant, etc. Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators Certificate (ACRE) Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) Associates or bachelor s degree in education, special education, sociology, social work, rehabilitation, counseling, therapy, transition programming, or any other major Apply Today for a Meaningful and Rewarding career!
