Job Description:

Overview:

The Wattsburg Area School District is seeking candidates for a Special Education Aide position to spend their days in a multitude of learning environments working 1:1 or in small groups with students with disabilities.

Shift:

First Shift, Monday through Friday when students are in session

Pay Rate:

$18.76 per hour, 7 hours per day, 180 days per school year

Start:

As soon as possible

Qualifications:

• All applicants must have an associate's degree or competency through a locally given assessment.
• Interested individuals must be well-organized, energetic, have a strong desire to help students, and assist faculty members.
• Maintain a pleasant and positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

Aides will assist teachers with preparing materials for a variety of needs within the classroom. Basic computer usage needed to assist students with their computer There may be an opportunity for additional hours through the monitoring of students on assigned bus routes. Necessary trainings and certifications for this position are provided and include current CPR and First Aid Certifications, de-escalation strategies through Handle with Care and/or Ukeru, and 20 yearly hours of continuing education.
