Job Description

At Morningside House, we work every day to provide kind, respectful care and meaningful experiences for our residents. We are looking for a caring, positive, and dependable person to join our Memory Care team. This is a unique role that includes several important parts of Memory Care. You will plan and lead activities for residents with dementia, spend time with residents and help keep them engaged, and assist with daily care when needed. This may include helping residents with meals, dressing, grooming, using the bathroom, showers, and other daily needs. You will also work closely with the Memory Care Director and help with simple office tasks, organizing supplies, preparing activities, and other needs within the department. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with seniors, is patient and creative, and wants to learn more about Memory Care. There may also be opportunities to learn new skills and grow into a leadership role in the future. The Memory Care Activities Coordinator / Assistant Memory Care Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading engaging activities and enrichment programs for residents within the Memory Care neighborhood. In addition to daily resident engagement, this role will assist the Memory Care Director with select administrative, operational, and direct caregiving tasks to support the overall success of the department.

Available Schedule:

Sunday-Thursday, 8am-4pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and facilitate daily activities and enrichment programs tailored to residents with dementia and cognitive impairment Lead group and one-on-one engagement opportunities including games, music, crafts, sensory activities, exercise, social events, and themed programming Build meaningful relationships with residents and encourage participation in activities Assist with decorating, event setup, holiday programming, and special community events Work collaboratively with nursing, caregiving, dining, and life enrichment teams to support resident quality of life Provide direct care to residents when needed. Maintain activity calendars, participation records, and required documentation Support the Memory Care Director with department organization, scheduling coordination, supply management, and administrative tasks Assist with onboarding, training support, and departmental initiatives as assigned Observe and report resident behavior changes, engagement levels, and concerns to the appropriate leadership team Help maintain a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff Serve as a positive leader and role model within the Memory Care department Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities related to dementia care and leadership growth

Requirements:

A High School Diploma or GED. One (1) year+ of experience in activities planning, senior living, dementia care, healthcare, or a related field. Compassionate and patient demeanor with a passion for working with seniors. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Creative mindset with the ability to engage residents at varying cognitive levels. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment Interest in leadership development and future growth within Memory Care operations preferred.
