We are currently seeking a Paraprofessional supports special education services by providing direct, individualized assistance to students with special needs. This critical role involves riding the bus with the assigned student, collaborating closely with special education teachers, and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans to maximize student growth, independence, and success in a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

Direct Student Support:

Provide personal and academic support to special needs students; assist in implementing and monitoring IEPs and behavior intervention plans.

Transportation Assistance:

Accompany and support the assigned student during bus rides to and from the academy.

Classroom Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with special education teachers, administrators, and colleagues to personalize support and maximize learning opportunities.

Behavior & Environment Management:

Actively manage student behavior across various school settings to ensure a safe, supportive, and conducive environment for learning.

Progress Monitoring:

Assist in assessing student growth, documenting progress, and adhering to school and district assessment policies.

Communication & Engagement:

Maintain professional, clear oral and written communication with colleagues, students, parents, and community stakeholders.

Professional Development:

Participate in the school's professional learning community to deepen understanding of the curriculum, strategies, and assessments.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Proven experience working with children, ideally within an educational or special education environment. Familiarity with special education practices and a strong willingness to learn and apply new behavioral and instructional strategies. Proficiency in using multi-media and computer technology to support student learning. Strong oral and written communication skills; exceptional ability to build collaborative relationships with students, parents, and staff. Ability to fulfill the required daily hours and the physical capacity to assist a student during bus transit. #Education
