Special Education Teacher Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized instruction to students with developmental disabilities, including those with autism, and supporting their educational and social development.Duties:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Utilize early childhood education and childhood development principles to create engaging lesson plans.
- Provide early intervention strategies to support students' learning and growth.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Implement effective lesson planning techniques that cater to students with developmental disabilities.
- Incorporate physical education activities into the curriculum to promote overall well-being.
- Utilize special education methodologies to address the diverse needs of students with autism.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- Certification in Special Education or relevant area.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Proficiency in creating and implementing lesson plans for preschool or early childhood education settings.
- Strong understanding of working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
- Familiarity with early intervention techniques and special education best practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and support staff.
Certification:
Special Education PK-8. Salary range is based on education and years of experience.
