Job Description

Make an immediate impact supporting students with severe autism as a dedicated paraprofessional in a highly structured school environment. Opportunities are open in elementary (K-8) and high school settings for experienced professionals committed to hands-on assistance and behavioral intervention. This contract position is perfect for those seeking meaningful, full-time work weekdays from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with a mandatory orientation week (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM) before the assignment begins. What you'll bring: At least one year of experience as a paraprofessional in a school special education classroom, specifically working with children with severe autism and behavioral needs Willingness to deliver hands-on support, including toileting, feeding, transfers, and managing self-injurious or aggressive student behaviors Capacity to implement safety interventions and thrive in a high-intensity, structured environment Residence within a 35-minute commute of the assignment area Availability for a consistent, full weekly schedule and the flexibility to attend the full mandatory orientation Ability and eagerness to fulfill Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualification requirements (including completing the necessary certification within 60 days if not already achieved) Comfort working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and school teams Your responsibilities: Support students requiring intensive behavioral and safety interventions Promote student engagement, independence, and skill development in classrooms and throughout the school Assist with daily living and personal care needs as required by each individual student Follow established behavioral protocols, provide proactive de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families In return, you'll join a network of passionate educational professionals, receive full training prior to starting, and enjoy the opportunity to make a difference every day in the lives of students and their families.
