Job Description

A vacancy exists for a Special Education, Learning Support Teacher position at Blockson Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year.

Stipend:

Qualifications:

PA Special Education Certification Bachelor's degree in Education Experience working with special education students preferred

FBI, PA Criminal Background and Child Abuse clearances

Bilingual in Spanish Preferred

Duties & Job Responsibilities:

Maintains IEP compliance.

Maintains accurate data on students daily progress

Maintains poise and composure.

Conducts FBAs and implement PBSPs. Maintains professional attitude.

Communicates with parents about students' progress.

Demonstrates appropriate language.

Demonstrates a willingness to cooperate toward District goals. Evidences planning which reflects objectives, diverse learners, and activities.

Keeps abreast of subject and special practices.

Provides appropriate instructional material to meet the students' needs.

Demonstrates the ability to organize for instruction.

Encourages students with appropriate reinforcement.

Provides an educational atmosphere consistent with instructional goals.

Provides for individual student differences.

Utilizes appropriate teaching and behavior modification strategies.
