Make a difference supporting students in an educational environment as a contracted paraprofessional for the upcoming school year. Full-time opportunities are available beginning August 21, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with roles based exclusively within the Jim Thorpe Area Schools.

travel candidates are not eligible; school-based experience is required. There are three unique assignments available, each providing 1:1 support to students with specific needs:

Key Qualifications:

Prior experience in a school setting is essential Comfortable providing dedicated 1:1 support to students with diverse and higher behavioral or physical needs Understanding of, or willingness to work with, students with autism, physical disabilities, or life skills program requirements Adaptable to changing student routines Able to maintain professional boundaries and provide compassionate care

Position Details:

Contract runs from late August 2026 to early June 2027 Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week (approximately 7:15 am 3:00 pm, subject to future adjustment) Individual assignments include: Support for a high school student in a Life Skills program with autism, focusing on keeping the student engaged and safe Support for a CCTI program student, including classroom assistance and bus travel between buildings Assistance for a first-grade student with cerebral palsy, including feeding, personal care, repositioning, and academic assistance
