Job Description
Job Summary:
Building Substitutes perform the essential functions of a teacher and may be assigned to any grade from Early Childhood through Middle School.Qualifications:
- Bachelor (Preferred)
- Teaching Certification (Preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with/affinity for working with children and teens.
- Ability to use a computer, including Google Workspace.
Working Conditions:
- Working with young children often entails close contact and exposure to diseases and infections, such
- as colds and influenza as well as exposure to loud sounds and high noise levels.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
- This position requires minimal travel for occasional meetings, training, or events.
- Perform moderate lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
- See, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; kneel, sit, stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors on a regular basis.
Working expectations:
- Must be able to traverse the school grounds, climb stairs, and drive a car.
- This is an as needed position, and can be called on at any time. The possible hours are Monday -
- Thurs, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, Fridays until 3:00.
Specific Responsibilities include the following:
- Teach/support students in classrooms across all ages and grades. Implement lesson plans provided by classroom teachers.
- Assist with morning arrival, afternoon dismissal, lunch, recess and other duties as required.
- Maintain a safe environment conducive to learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
