Full-Time Schedule:
37 hours per week (185 days following the school year calendar)

Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays What You Will Do As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will empower students across instructional, physical, adaptive, and behavioral settings.
Core responsibilities include:
Instructional & Classroom Support:
Tutor individuals or small groups using adapted materials provided by certified teachers. Assist students with classroom assignments, tests, organization, and homework. Prepare learning materials (flashcards, review tools, learning centers) and assist in general education classrooms.
Behavioral & Functional Guidance:
Implement positive behavior support plans and maintain a safe, therapeutic learning environment. Support restorative interventions in the Reflection Room and collect progress/behavioral data. Assist students with daily self-help/functional skills (e.g., feeding, dressing, toileting) as needed.
Vocational & Student Supervision:
Provide job coach support for students in community and school vocational settings. Supervise students during arrivals, departures, lunch, recess, assemblies, and field trips. Escort students safely throughout the building (e.g., gym, library, nurse's office).
Qualifications:
Education High School Diploma required (Associate Degree preferred). Must meet PDE "Highly Qualified" status via 48+ undergraduate credits or a Credential of Competency through PDE/PaTTAN.
Experience & Skills:
Minimum 2 years of experience working with children preferred. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and basic computer skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain annual CPR/First Aid certifications.
Professional Development:
Ability to complete the required 20 hours of special education training annually.
Clearances:
Required pre-employment medical exam, PA State Police Criminal History, FBI Fingerprinting, and PA Child Abuse Clearances. Physical Demands & Work Environment Work is conducted primarily in a typical classroom setting, with occasional outdoor supervision (weather permitting). Ability to lift/carry supplies up to 20 lbs. and assist with student lifting/equipment in excess of 75 lbs. when required.
