CAD Computer Aided Drafting Instructor Mechanical Architectural About the
Role:
Penn Commercial Business/Technical School in Washington, PA is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) Instructor with a mechanical focus to inspire the next generation of technical professionals. Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging instruction in Computer Aided Drafting with a focus on mechanical drafting principles and applications Teach industry-standard CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar platforms) to students at varying skill levels Develop and update curriculum, lesson plans, and course materials aligned with industry standards Evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and assessments Provide hands-on guidance in technical drawing, geometric dimensioning and mechanical design concepts Mentor and advise students on career pathways in drafting, design, and engineering technology Maintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom and lab environment
Requirements:
Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor and Revit or equivalent mechanical/Architectural drafting tools Professional experience in mechanical drafting, design, or engineering technology Associate's or bachelor's degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred Teaching or training experience is a plus, but not required Strong understanding of mechanical drafting standards, blueprints, and technical specifications Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a student-centered approach
